Why you want to watch Love Hard on Netflix today

Yes, the first step is taken: I have watched my first Christmas movie. I always have a bit of an opinion about Netflix's Christmas movies, as not all of them are that good. It is striking that especially the movies with Vanessa Hudgens in the lead role are quite cringeworthy. Poor Vanessa. But no, my expectations were not very high when I started watching Love Hard yesterday. I didn't mind, by the way: it was Sunday, the UberEATS driver was on the way, the candles were lit, and I was lying on the couch under a blanket. So far, so good.
But guys, this is a genuinely fun tip, I realized that within two minutes. This movie is about a thirty-something writer who continues to believe in love despite the fact that she only meets men who cheat. And that was for me, a thirty-something writer who continues to believe in love despite the fact that I only meet men who cheat, a feast of recognition. It couldn't get any better.
Nina Dobrev plays Natalie, the writer in question, who matches with the handsome Josh on a dating app. Purely impulsively, she decides to surprise him at Christmas and books a ticket to the cold east of the United States from her warm California. Once there, it turns out that the handsome Josh is the slightly less handsome Josh, with a few more pounds. Yes: she has been catfished. The guy from the photos turns out to be Tag, a childhood friend of Josh.
Now I can hear you thinking: this is going to be such a cliché movie, especially when the real Josh promises to set Natalie up with Tag. And they lived happily ever after. Not really. Whut? Okay okay, there were a few clichés here and there, but I was generally very satisfied with the ending.
Netflix, you should make more movies like this. I'm in the mood for Christmas, I've gained a little less confidence in dating apps (but that was already quite low), and I've developed a crush on both Josh and Tag. An 8/10. Recommended.
