Trip down memory lane: the tumultuous love life of Lindsay Lohan
Finally: our Lindsay Lohan is getting married. The actress has been proposed to by her boyfriend Bader Shammas, and that really touches me, as I truly grew up with this star. It all started with the movie The Parent Trap, which I must have watched hundreds of times with my ‘big’ sister when I was a little girl. Later, of course, it was replaced by Mean Girls, which I still secretly watch every year. I can't deny that I still know the Christmas dance by heart. But anyway, we can't get around it: Lindsay Lohan is simply a legend. This is mainly due to her status as a heavy party animal (we've seen the necessary mugshots) and her wild past in which she has devoured quite a few men (plus one woman). Could Lindsay finally have found the one? After all, this is not the first time she has been proposed to. Well, let's just hope it's the real deal this time, but I have a good feeling about it. Here’s a little trip down memory lane of Lindsay's tumultuous love life.
Aaron Carter (2002-2003)
In Lindsay's (still) innocent Disney years, she was linked to pop star Aaron Carter. This brought quite a bit of drama, as fellow Disney star Hilary Duff had been involved with Aaron just before. Lindsay and Hilary absolutely could not stand each other because of this. Aaron was clearly playing both sides and ended up with neither. Good for him.
Wilmer Valderrama (May 2004 – November 2004)
Not long after Aaron, Lindsay was spotted with That ‘70s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama. Unfortunately, the romance did not last longer than four months. They both stated that they were completely okay with their break-up, which is just lovely, of course. So it can be done.
Harry Morton (2006)
In 2006, Lindsay entered into a relationship with the well-known American restaurateur Harry Morton. Their romantic relationship was short-lived, but a close friendship remained until his death in 2019. Lindsay posted a tribute to him on social media with the text: ‘Best friends. Best life.’
Samantha Ronson (2008-2009)
The relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson caused quite a stir in the news. I hope we are no longer shocked by this, but at the time, people apparently found it quite shocking that Lindsay was dating a woman. But anyway, the two were most likely not meant for each other as they broke up multiple times within a year. Lindsay said the following about it: ‘Two toxic people cannot be together.’ Well, clear story then.
Egor Tarabasov (December 2015 – August 2016)
In 2015, rumors circulated that Lindsay was engaged to a Russian businessman. Not long after, Lindsay confirmed that on Instagram with a post, which of course is no longer available on her feed. Lindsay ended the relationship after Egor allegedly used violence against her. And rightly so.
Bader Shammas (2019 – the end?)
Last but not least: banker Bader Shammas. Her current fiancé has been kept well hidden for a long time. The two have actually been dating for almost two years. According to Lindsay's mother, he is a wonderful man. Well, let's just assume that. She also announced this engagement again via Instagram. She posted a photo with the sweet text: ‘My love. My life. My family. My future.’ I wish them all the happiness in the world, of course.

PS. Were the above men her only flings? No, no, certainly not. Tabloid InTouch leaked a list of Lindsay's bed partners in 2014. Oops. Through a good friend of hers, the magazine got hold of the handwritten list by LiLo. Lindsay has confirmed the list and I understand why. There are quite a few beautiful conquests on it, such as Justin Timberlake, Heath Ledger, and Adam Levine. I wouldn't be ashamed of that at all. A small problem though: some of the men on the list were (at the time they jumped into bed with Lindsay) definitely not single. So the list likely meant the end for a number of ‘happy’ Hollywood couples.
