Alec Baldwin speaks out for the first time again

Alec Baldwin makes a statement

Tonight, actor Alec Baldwin will give his first interview since the fatal shooting incident on the set of his film Rust, of which he is also a producer. During rehearsals, a gun was fired, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins (42). The director, Joel Souza, was injured. Baldwin is now telling his story for the first time to George Stephanopoulos at ABC News. Tonight (American time, so in the night for us) it will be broadcast, but the network has already released a preview.

The most striking thing is that he claims not to be the one who fired the shot. ‘The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,’ he says in the interview. Afterwards: ‘I would never point a gun at anyone and then pull the trigger, never.’ This is notable because all available video footage has been collected by the police, and it was concluded from that footage that he was indeed the one who pulled the trigger.

‘Someone put a live bullet in the gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,’ he further explains. The shooting incident sparked a fierce debate in America about safety on film sets. Before this incident, there had already been complaints about safety issues, and several crew members had stepped down.

Check the full preview below. The investigation is still ongoing, so this will definitely not be the last we hear about it.
