Uh oh: maybe your passwords are out in the open

Yes, I'm just going to say it, because a warned person counts for two. The chance that you want to change everything now is high. The private data and passwords of millions of Dutch people are out in the open after a hack at the popular webshop Allekabels. According to experts, this is the largest data leak of passwords in the Netherlands ever. RTL has conducted research into the data and concludes that the private data of about 3.6 million people was offered for sale (!) starting at 15,000 euros. That advertisement has since been removed, so you understand: the data has been sold. Meanwhile, that same data is being traded among cybercriminals and is actively being misused to send phishing messages, scam people, or hack them. You know how it works, and yet it surprises me, at least. Anyhow, if you recently ordered from Allekabels via Bol.com or Amazon: you know what you need to do.
