Dutch LALA Tequila

Confession time: I broke a promise to myself this week, namely the promise that I would never drink tequila again. I made that promise after my splashing vacation in — how could it be otherwise — Lloret de Mar in 2006. A case of #goodtimes, in shabby bars where you could get a shot of tequila for 70 cents (if you've been there, you probably know exactly which one I mean). Five years later, I added a lifelong ban for myself regarding Jägermeister, and two years later, Sambuca was also scrapped.

But I have gone back on that, because yes: I have started drinking tequila again. Just in moderation, mind you. People have been telling me for all those years that I should try it again because ‘really good tequila is not as harsh as that stuff in Lloret’. I really believed that, but I still stood my ground.

Until I was presented with the Dutch brand LALA Tequila. Okay, okay, I’ll try it again. For the first time in eleven years. And what do you think? I actually don’t find it disgusting at all. In fact, I genuinely find this one tasty. I’ll tell you something even better: I even poured it twice this week because I suddenly find tequila quite pleasant.

So yes, I’m going to tell you the same thing that I was always told: don’t like tequila? Then you’ve never really tasted good tequila. Treat yourself to the Dutch LALA Tequila and, like me, turn your fears into budding love.
