Delicious to be able to eat out again. Okay, it has been possible for a little while now, but I really feel like I appreciate it more than before. I also notice that since the reopening of the hospitality industry, I have more of a desire to test new hotspots. Before, I mainly went to my standard places, but now that dining out is possible again (and entering without a face mask, how nice is that?) I want to try all the hospitality in Amsterdam. That has become my personal mission and I share my latest tips with all my love. Like today, the new kid in town: Cielo at the Zuidas.
Then you might not think that the Zuidas is very atmospheric, and I agree, but you experience little of that at Cielo since you are on the 19th (!) floor. You can sit all around and have a view of both Amsterdam-Zuid, the Pontsteiger, and the ArenA on the other side. Really beautifully special, especially since there are few restaurants in Amsterdam that have a good rooftop with a truly good view.
Cielo is located in hotel Innside and it really reminded me a bit of the New York-like bars and restaurants. They have of course mastered the whole rooftop scene, so that seems to me a very good source of inspiration. I also saw the high ceilings that Cielo has and the gigantic high windows. And I loveeee it.
But okay, enough about the look, which is great, but if the rest isn't good, it's still not a recommendation. But holy guacamole, I seriously haven't eaten this well in ages. As a liquid starter, I had a Pornstar Martini with a twist (coconut, which I think should be used more often in this cocktail) and then I continued with the white sangria (thankfully I had a backbone and kept it to just one).
We had homemade croquetas with jamon Ibérico and black truffle. So fresh and really delicious. The grilled pepper in balsamic was also gone in no time, the cauliflower in tempura was not just normal delicious, just like their own variation on the pinchos, with brie and pork.
As you might already read a bit, I went home feeling quite full and I'm already thinking about when I'll go that way again.
