Today we go to brush hair and make-up

Something you might not know about me is that I was really a disaster with hairdressers. I used to think I could do it just as well myself (spoiler: I couldn't) and that my hair could handle changing color a few times a year (spoiler: it couldn't). So I had black hair (it was supposed to be brown), red hair (again, it was supposed to be brown), orange hair (an attempt to go blonde again after brown), and as the cherry on top, I also tried to bleach it at home. I don't know what colors came out of that, but it was quite a rainbow.

One plus side of having had all those hair colors is that I sit here quite unfazed. No more tears for me over failed hair. But still, I would sometimes check out and think: really? This result for this money?

My search lasted about three to four years, until I just started looking on Google for which hair salon in my area had the best reviews. That's how I ended up at BRUSH Hair + Make up in Amsterdam, which was literally within crawling distance, so it was worth a try. That was three years ago now, and I thought it was time to put them in the spotlight.

Because seriously, if you live in Amsterdam, you want to go to this hairdresser. Even if you live outside Amsterdam, by the way. The salon is run by the couple Justin and Bryan, and I can already tell you that there is no forced small talk here (relief).

But then my hair. MY HAIR. Seriously, that first time, a few years ago, I was so intensely happy after that first treatment. I went through the full wash street: extensions, balayage, highlights, a haircut, and I really felt like a Victoria's Secret model (thanks to my locks, the similarities otherwise were hard to find).

Last week I went again, and again it was so incredibly beautifully dyed (really an art, I've come to realize) and cut. By now, several of my friends are also regular customers (and just as happy), so I wanted to share my secret to a good hair day with you.
