get used to it reading book

One of the many good resolutions I often hear is: ‘this year I'm going to read more books.’ Now I already read quite a lot myself and I have resolved to read 52 books, or one each week... That went well for a while, until it didn't anymore and I got really stressed out about it. So that was the end of that good resolution. But I can still enjoy a book: biographies, thrillers, detective stories, or light and funny ones.

And since 2020 was already tough enough, I have a really nice tip in that last category: ‘Get Used to It’ by Maike Meijer. It's so hilarious how the main character M describes her daily experiences. How her son Ole is about to leave the parental nest and how sex is almost checked off as a routine (‘like a semi-annual check-up at the dentist’).

Sounds all grim, but it absolutely isn't. It's actually described in a light and especially very funny way. So if you want to start the new year with, for example, this good resolution, then read this. You won't regret it.
