Oooh, what a nice way to wake up, I must say. And to be honest: it felt a bit like I was opening my eyes in Bali. Absolutely no punishment, because I had my most beautiful vacations on that island. The thing is: I am not in Bali at all. I am on an island, but not exactly one nearby. Currently, I am staying in Bonaire, and in the city of Kralendijk, you have a little Bali. Pure enjoyment.

Sometimes I book a hotel that I already know: this is really just for sleeping and I don't need anything else. But the nights I spent at Bamboo Bonaire, I enjoyed most of the day there. In my private backyard with a nice bed, in the hammock, or in my private jacuzzi. Yes, you read that right: they have cottages there with a private jacuzzi. And yes, you definitely want to book that.

You will find all kinds of cottages, and one has its own jacuzzi, another has a small pool, and so on. And very affordable, which is also quite important. I treated myself to the Honeymoon Suite and I can recommend you do the same if you go to Bonaire. Also, make sure to reserve in advance at the restaurant Chef’s, which is part of the hotel.

Chef’s is a small restaurant with space for only about ten people, all sitting around the open kitchen. According to many, this is the best restaurant in Bonaire, so you definitely don't want to miss that. Rolling out of your hammock to the restaurant, and then rolling back into that lovely bed. I already miss it.
