From Australia and New Zealand to France and England: from countries all over the world, Lauren collects them: vintage designer buttons from Chanel. What started with beauties of buttons that she spotted online on designer jackets has now blossomed into a fantastic jewelry brand with, indeed, the most beautiful buttons transformed into pendants for your necklace or bracelet together with goldsmiths. How does she get the buttons? ‘After a long search, I found a number of people who have made it their job to buy (broken) vintage designer items and sell all their parts separately. For example, a coat with a burn hole is bought and all the buttons are resold, sometimes there are as many as 16 pieces per garment. All buttons come from designer bags, jackets, and skirts. What I love about this is that all the jewelry I make has already had a life as a former part of a designer item and therefore all have their own story and are unique,’ says Lauren. And what I also find so nice (according to Lilian, haha): the jewelry is all named after cities where Lauren bought the buttons. For example, there is a Kneaup Necklace Vienna and a Kneaup Bracelet Ghent. Curious about her amazing collection? Click here. Oh guys, aren't these just little candies? On my wishlist, the Melbourne necklace and beige Prague bracelet are eagerly waiting to be shopped. What about you?
