Women who talk (a lot) live longer

Do you never wisely keep your mouth shut? Do you have the biggest yap of your entire group of friends? Can your partner no longer stand your nonsense at the end of the day? That's a good sign.
Because women who talk a lot are said to live longer on average, according to scientists.
Healthy life
If you chat everyone's ears off, then you're doing great. Talking a lot is healthy. Here's the thing. Those who talk a lot are often also social. And social behavior is good for a person. Having friends is extremely important for your well-being – both physically and mentally. Additionally, researchers discovered that when women chat a lot, they often have a positive outlook on life. They are optimistic and tend to see the glass as half full. 1+1=2. Also not entirely unimportant for your health, as you can understand.
It all has to do with someone's quality of life, as they beautifully say in psychology. This is partly determined by your genetic predisposition, for example, whether you are susceptible to depression or anxiety due to your DNA. But you also have an influence on that quality of life. You choose where to live, who you live with, and how you spend your free time. You are at the wheel of your own life. For the research of Dr. Nir Barzilai, who works at a university in the US, 250 women aged between 95 and 100 were interviewed. A personality test revealed that the women who had a positive outlook on life and thus a high quality of life were often more talkative. And the reverse is also true: talkative people are often more positive. In other words: talking makes you happy, and if you're already happy, you automatically talk more. And happy people, on average, live longer.
Men vs. women
How much do you need to talk to somewhat participate in these beautiful predictions? Simple, according to the author of the book We Are What We Speak, Luis Rojas. People who produce more than 15,000 words a day are very healthy. Anyone who talks less, according to him, would also live less long. According to Luis, this somewhat explains why women worldwide tend to live longer than men. Women say an average of 20,000 words a day, compared to men who only produce about 7,000 words a day. In 2019, life expectancy in the Netherlands was 80.5 years for men and 83.6 years for women. This is because we women just don't. stop. talking. Ha.
Well, of course not everything in life depends on your endless chatter with friends, but it certainly can't hurt to plan another really long terrace day again. Science says so, right?
