Why your partner has more mosquito bites than you

My children are always the ones getting bitten, and I never am. My husband can calmly go on a hunt for a mosquito for a quarter of an hour while I pull the pillow over my head and mumble ‘let me sleep’. The buzzing around my head is annoying, but I know that the mosquito usually leaves me alone. Why they bite him and not me was a mystery. Until I saw a video today on Nu.nl with all the answers. Because why does a mosquito bite one person and not another? Here it comes.

1. Mosquitoes are attracted to smell and warmth.
So not to light, as we always think. Maybe we see them better then, but that doesn't mean they are attracted to it.

2. Sweat and alcohol
Mosquitoes love that. It explains why we often get bitten on vacation, because then we've had a few drinks and we are warm. After three beers (is beer healthier than wine?) there is already a big call for mosquitoes. And they also really enjoy warmth.

3. They can smell you from 70 meters away
Then you know that. You can run but you can’t hide.

4. Pregnant women they are crazy about They produce more carbon dioxide and they love that.
5. Tall people.

They attract more mosquitoes than short people.
It's not a solution, but at least you know why it happens.
