Yay or nay? Lidl sells Tzatziki chips

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: tzatziki chips.

Natural or paprika might be the most obvious chips you can grab from the shelf, but that doesn't make them any less tasty. In fact, I prefer to eat only natural chips and preferably the ridged ones. But every now and then, another bag sneaks into the house. This time, it's the tzatziki and gyros chips from supermarket Lidl.

Starting tomorrow, the Greek week at Lidl begins, and of course, the cheerful duo tzatziki and gyros cannot be missed. That's why the ‘Greek chips’ are available here for one week – and for just €0.99 per bag – in the store. Should you grab them?

Perfectly delicious
Where we were somewhat disappointed by the new fast food chain flavors from Lay’s , these are two flavors that you will definitely eat bags of. Because: tzatziki! On vacation in Greece or Cyprus, we can't get enough of it. With warm and crispy pieces of pita bread, we quickly scoop up every bowl we encounter.

Tzatziki in chip form then. Is that tasty? Is that gross? A bit of both. It tastes like a mix of chives, sour cream, and onion, and there's nothing wrong with that. It crunches away wonderfully, but whether it really tastes like tzatziki we're still undecided. Nevertheless, a perfectly deliciously gross chip for with drinks.

Chips with gyros flavor
And then the gyros variant. Tasty? Yes, but here too, you don't immediately taste the grilled meat on a skewer, but it's mainly the spices that remind us of a well-filled pita bread gyros. It's a real party crasher for fans of barbecue chip flavors – especially with a cold glass of Greek beer on the side.

Greek style
In short, definitely get both bags at home. And do you know what else is really tasty if you want to do it Greek style ? Make an ouzo-tzatziki dip for your hamburger.
