Yesss, bring on those coronavirus relaxations

Hugo de Jonge, finally I was really happy to see you. Because let's be honest, it hasn't always been that pleasant with you. And in the last few months, I was more dreading it than thinking: hey, nice, Hugo de Jonge back on my screen. But today was different. Shall we keep that trend going?

The relaxations that were implemented conditionally have officially received the green light. This means that from Wednesday we can sit on the terrace until eight o'clock in the evening — for me the most important measure because god, how I've missed that hospitality sector. But if you've eaten too many beers and bitterballen, you don't have to force yourself to such a stupid home lesson anymore. The gyms are also reopening and I never thought I would say this, but I've seriously missed those too.

Further relaxations are that the zoos can reopen and that sex workers can get back to work. The condition for these relaxations was that there would be a twenty percent decrease, and that was already achieved in the past few days; it has even become thirty percent. So these relaxations were already a certainty, but it's still nice to hear that they are really going ahead.

Moreover, Hugo de Jonge was simply in a positive mood. Nah, it can't get much crazier. He talked about relaxations that could possibly be announced on June 1 and that would then take effect on June 9. But — and this is a very nice but — it could also very well be that those relaxations could come into effect even earlier. Yes, you read that right: EARLIER.

I don't dare to cheer too early, but it finally feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Like corona will eventually really be a piece of history instead of something we still have to deal with every day. And that's a really nice feeling, right?
