6 facts about the clitoris

I was quite shocked when I heard Eva Jinek say that the clitoris did not appear in drawings in the biology book until a year ago. As if it didn't exist. Do you find it strange that men still think that the clitoris is a stain that needs to be scrubbed out of the carpet? It is already a miracle that they even know it exists. It's high time to do something about sexual education and go over the fabulous facts about the clitoris (you should say clítoris and not clitóris).
1. It is quite large
The outside is about the size of a raisin, but inside it can be up to 12 centimeters. When we are still small fetuses, the clitoris and penis are even the same. Only after nine weeks of pregnancy does it become a clitoris and the other a penis. And oh yes, just like a penis, the clitoris also grows when aroused.
2. It is the heart of your orgasm
The only job of the clitoris is to give you sexual pleasure. And to provide you with an orgasm. 18 percent of women say they orgasm during penetration, the rest all through clitoral stimulation (sorry for the bureaucratic language). Researchers say that the women who orgasm during penetration probably do so because part of their clitoris (probably the other side of that 12 centimeters) is being stimulated.
3. Clitoris and menstruation
Are you a bit more aroused during your menstruation? That can very well be because you produce more progesterone, which leads to more feelings of desire. And a good tip: if you suffer from menstrual pain, a good orgasm can sometimes help with the pain. My friend A told me just before my first delivery that an orgasm during contractions would also help with the pain. I didn't follow her advice, do you think that's very bad?
4. Twice as sensitive as the penis
The clitoris has 8000 nerve endings. 8000! That is twice as many as in the penis.
5. The clitoris never ages
That's quite nice: the clitoris of a 30-year-old looks just like that of a 70-year-old. But to go flaunting that on the beach is a bit much.
6. Good old Tjitske
During the program Ladies Night, Merel Westrik once discussed the clítoris/clitóris phenomenon with Tjitske Reidinga, to which Tjitske said in her characteristic tone: ‘I think it's an expensive word for such a wrinkly piece of old ham.’
It would be nice if that quote were also included in the biology books.
