8x things you can do in the days between Christmas and New Year's

The days between Christmas and New Year's often feel like you're in some kind of strange time loop. Generally, you have no idea what day it is or what time it is, let alone what to do with yourself. Recognizable? With these tips, you'll get through these days a bit more pleasantly and productively.
1. Discover a new hobby
Get out your sketchbook, learn the art of reading tarot cards, or try to put together that 1000-piece puzzle that's been sitting in your closet for a year. This is the perfect time to discover hobbies that you haven't had time for all year.
2. Plan your goals for the new year
Something that always gets me personally excited for the new year: making a vision board with all the dreams, goals, and wishes for the year to come. Supplies? A stack of old magazines, scissors, and a dose of creativity.
3. Try out new recipes
Okay, say it with me: this is the last time you had to take care of dessert and showed up with a box of Viennetta for the third year in a row. Next year, you'll wow your family with a batch of homemade treats, and the practice starts now.
4. Shop till you drop
This is not a drill: everything is on sale, including all the lights and Christmas decorations. How good will it feel when everyone and their mother is running around the Intratuin like a headless chicken next year, and you only have to take your stuff out of the packaging? Exactly. Stock up!
5. Go on a solo date
Let's be honest: these are just boring days. Everyone is away, tired, or, if you're single, occupied. Want to see a movie that you can't drag your friends to, or try the coffee at that new café while enjoying a nice book? Take your chance and enjoy the peace.
6. Clear out your closets
Admit it: you've kept way too many things this past year that could have been thrown away long ago. All those half-empty testers, Tupperware containers without lids (seriously, I think my kitchen eats those lids), and odd socks: get rid of them! Let's start the new year with a clean slate and an organized closet.
7. Check off your to-do list
Okay, those few kilos you wanted to lose this year won't come off in the last days of 2022, but maybe you had another goal in mind at the beginning of the year that you've left aside for way too long. Think about reorganizing your bathroom cabinets, donating old clothes, or unfollowing your ex on Instagram. See if you can still cross one of those things off your list by December 31. Feels good.
8. Make a scrapbook of the past year
Another personal favorite: reflecting on the past year by sticking all your favorite photos in an album. Such a trip down memory lane will undoubtedly make you super curious about what's to come. 2023, here we come!
