Brilliant: Aldi is coming out with a hutspot bitterball

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: Brilliant: Aldi is coming out with a hutspot bitterball.
Anyone who is not impressed by the national Dutch cuisine has never eaten bitterballen. And Aldi makes them even tastier, as they will soon be stocking hutspot bitterballen in their freezer. Get them while you can!
The culinary fryers among us know countless variations of the bitterball. Take, for example, the vegetarian beetball, the cheese bitterball, and the truffle ball. Don't believe it? At Bar Bitterbal in Amsterdam, unfortunately already closed, there were no less than 22 variations on the menu. And as if that wasn't crazy enough: during the last carnival season, we even spotted the Flügel bitterball.
Spicy little ball
The hutspot bitterball wasn't among them; that's a find from Aldi. A golden idea, if you ask us: the sweet-savory filling of potato, onion, and carrot can only result in a deliciously spicy bitterball. Just dip it in mustard and the party is complete. It's called hutsbal and will soon be available at Aldi.
Two good things
Although, not everyone is equally enthusiastic. On Instagram, passionate Aldi followers respond critically. ‘Sometimes you have to keep two good things separate; I think this is one of those,’ responds Korstiaanakse, for example. Follower Didier Cestmoi also has his question marks: ‘Love both, but regarding this combination, I'm still a bit unsure.’
Bitterball parade
As far as we are concerned, this is just the beginning of an impressive bitterball parade in the freezer at Aldi and in the fryer at home. The hutspot bitterball is just the start; why not a snertball, a boerenkoolbal, or a stimpstampbal with bacon bits? The Dutch pot has never been so delicious.
