This beach pavilion has been awarded the title ‘best in the Netherlands’

With your feet in the sand, a glass of wine in hand, and looking out over the sea, it is wonderful to spend time at the Dutch beach tents and pavilions this summer. But where is the very best? According to experts, at beach pavilion Sjoerd, recently named Best Pavilion of 2022.
The Best Pavilion election, organized by Strand Nederland and Rijkswaterstaat, is a recognition for many pavilion owners for their hard work. Beach pavilion Sjoerd has been among the contenders for the title for years.
Clean beach
This year, the pavilion on Ameland at Strandweg 70 took first place. ‘The entrepreneur of beach pavilion Sjoerd is committed to his colleagues and advocates for a clean beach around the business and a top product in his business,’ according to the hospitality trade magazine Misset Horeca.
You can enjoy a combination of street food, classics, and Mediterranean dishes made from honest, sustainable products from the area.
Deliciously sustainable
Beach pavilion Sjoerd has also been named the most sustainable beach pavilion in the Netherlands by StrandNederland and awarded a gold GreenKey certificate. This is partly due to the biodegradable packaging for fries and takeaway cups, 100% LED lighting, smart heating system, solar boiler, energy-efficient kitchen appliances, and many solar panels. Well done, Sjoerd!
