WHAT: is there now also botox for your hair?

Recently, I heard my hairdresser talking with her colleague about ‘hair botox’. I was lying with my head in the sink at that moment, so I didn't really feel like I had the space to join this conversation. However, I immediately thought: WHAT, is there really botox for your hair? I could hardly believe it, so when I got home, I immediately looked it up.

Well, there is indeed a treatment for your hair called ‘hair botox’, and quite a few salons offer this. But as the word does not suggest, no needles are used in this process. Quite a confusing term, then. So what is it? An intensive and nourishing treatment for your hair that makes it smoother and softer. Hence the comparison with botox, which I still find a bit misleading.

Okay, what does this hair botox actually do and why would we want it? Well, as I said, this is an intensive and nourishing treatment that repairs damaged hair and damaged hair fibers. You should actually see it as a kind of powershot that gives your hair a boost for three to four months. That doesn't sound bad at all. What’s in it? A lot of nice ingredients like caviar oil, antioxidants, vitamin B5, vitamin E, and collagen.

Besides the fact that your locks get a beautiful shine, the ‘botox’ can also ensure that your hair becomes more elastic in the future and thus breaks less quickly. That seems like something we could really use in winter, right? Important point: this treatment is somewhat different from the well-known keratin treatment that also makes hair smooth, but often involves chemical substances. In hair botox, on the other hand, there are only natural ingredients, which is nice.

So do you also always belong to ’team frizz’ during the winter months? Then hair botox might just be the solution. I’m definitely going to try it at least once, I’m curious.
