More Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix

Jeffrey Dahmer

Have you Dahmer on Netflix seen it yet? I am intensely fond of true crime, and even though I already knew this story inside out, I still didn't binge it all at once. And it wasn't because I don't think it's a good series (because I think it's very well made), but because it was really a bit too intense. There has been a lot of criticism about the fact that Jeffrey Dahmer is being romanticized, that we would start to see him as a ‘human person’ and perhaps even feel pity for him. Well, I don't know... But for me, he has only become more disturbed than I already thought he was. That's also due to Evan Peters' acting, by the way. It gives me the chills. And if you know a bit about what this man has done (definitely read his Wikipedia page if you're not familiar with it yet, but at your own risk) you also understand: it's impossible to see this person even one percent as human.

Criticism or not, the fact is that Dahmer is a hit on Netflix. And so we get even more Jeffrey Dahmer, but then in the ‘real’ form: Conversations with a Killer: the Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes. Maybe you already know this series on Netflix, because they also made this miniseries about John Wayne Gacy (The Killer Clown, also very grim if you want to watch something) and Ted Bundy.

In this miniseries, we get more background information about Jeffrey Dahmer, but we also listen to and watch his confessions. He tells in interviews (without supervision, you have to be brave) how he came to his gruesome deeds. Not really suitable for the faint-hearted, because this terrifying man is completely disturbed. But are we going to watch? Absolutely.

Conversations with a Killer: the Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes premieres on October 7 on Netflix.
