Netflix tip of the day: Dahmer

True crime lovers, if you have even slightly delved into the most bizarre cases in the world, then you know this one. One of the few cases that could really make me feel sick and angry. And of course, Netflix sees a goldmine in it — and rightly so — which is finally online. Good news: there are no less than ten (!) episodes. Even more good news: the lead role is played by Emmy winner Evan Peters, in collaboration with Ryan Murphy. The latter we know from Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story, and also from Glee.
The result is called Dahmer — Monster: the story of Jeffrey Dahmer. Evan Peters portrays him, and how: he really looks exactly like that creepy Jeffrey Dahmer. Oh, if you are not yet familiar with this disgusting figure: he was a serial killer. His victims were young boys, whom he murdered… And then ate. Yep, seriously; it is even thought that he handed out human flesh to his neighbors during a neighborhood barbecue.
The worst part is that one victim managed to escape, named Konerak Sinthasomphone, a fourteen-year-old boy. Police officers found him drugged, with bruises all over, naked, and with blood coming from his backside. You would think they were shocked to death? Well, probably, but they brought him back to Jeffrey Dahmer, after which he was murdered. The reason for this has never become completely clear, although it seems quite sad: homosexuality was not really accepted and racism played (and still plays, unfortunately) a big role in the United States.
All of this is also addressed in this series, so here’s a little warning: it can be quite intense.
