9 Disney movies we can learn from

Disney is of course the common thread in our lives, at least, that's what I assume. Certain Disney movies are a must-see, as part of your upbringing. There is so much to learn from Disney, because every film has a hidden message. Below I share my favorite films and life lessons from Disney; classics, but also new films. After all, we are never too old for Disney.
1. The Lion King
The Lion King is definitely my number one. This film can still touch me deeply, as it encompasses all facets of life. And combined with that beautiful music; yes, then you have me for sure. What is the biggest lesson I learned from this film? That the past can hurt a lot, but that life will always go on. Therefore, it is better to accept the pain than to run away from it and thus suppress your feelings. And last but not least: hakuna matata, or in other words: don't worry too much, but make sure you enjoy.
2. Lilo & Stitch
In the film Lilo & Stitch, everything revolves around Ohana, another word for family. The most beautiful line from the film is: ‘Ohana means family and family means that no one gets left behind or forgotten.’ And that's true: for family, you would go through fire. The film also shows that family doesn't always have to be your own blood, but that you can also consider your friends as family.
3. Belle & the Beast
The message of Belle & the Beast is clear: true beauty comes from within. We often judge others too much on their outside, but this film teaches us that we should never do that.
4. Dumbo
Dumbo, that overly sweet little elephant with those big ears. He is bullied because he is different from ‘the rest’. The film is about embracing yourself as you are and that what makes you different also makes you special. You should be proud of that and make use of it.
5. Frozen
This relatively new Disney film is not about the love between a prince and princess, but about the special bond between two sisters. This familial love is invincible and the film shows that sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice something for the other, because that is what you do when you love each other.
6. Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo summarized in one sentence: even though life isn't always easy, keep swimming. During the film, Nemo's father searches the entire ocean for Nemo, which comes with many setbacks, but he is not planning to give up. Perseverance is the big lesson from this film.
7. Coco
This is one of the most recent Disney films. Coco is about the Mexican tradition of honoring, remembering, and celebrating their deceased loved ones. The film shows us how to give something as big as death a place in life. Everything in the film revolves around being together and coming together.
8. Soul
Soul is from the same creators as Coco and I just saw it for the first time recently. The big question from this film is: what do I really want to spend my time on earth doing? It is about finding a purpose and pursuing your passion. The film teaches us that sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone to make our dreams come true. After all, we only live once.
9. Inside Out
Finally, from the same creators as Coco and Soul, I was deeply impressed by the film Inside Out. This film explores all human emotions: why do we feel what we feel? This film teaches us what actually makes us human and that as we grow older, we experience more and more complex emotions. The film shows that it is not bad at all to feel deeply unhappy and sad sometimes and that we can sometimes give our negative emotions some space.
