Drama at The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Noise in the tent at Beverly Hills. Well, actually not; did you know that exactly no one from the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actually lives in Beverly Hills? So in those Hills, it’s suspiciously quiet, but outside it’s going wild. It’s Drama with a capital D with the Housewives, and of course, you expect that, after all, it’s a reality series, but this is next level. If you’ve dropped off somewhere in the last seasons, I recommend you start watching again because you don’t know what you’re missing.

It’s even at times really quite grim. Maybe you’ve already picked up on it a bit, but Erika Jayne is under quite a bit of fire. She is in the process of divorcing her almost-ex-lawyer Tom Girardi. She filed for that divorce shortly after it became known that he was withholding a lot of money that was meant for victims of, for example, plane crashes. Families who were entitled to compensation and never received it because Mr. Girardi kept the money for himself. Really particularly ugly, but Erika Jayne continues to insist she knows nothing.

That is, of course, up to a judge to figure out, but the fact is that there are families who have fallen into serious financial trouble (thanks to the lousy healthcare system in the United States) because her husband didn’t give them the money they were entitled to. What he did do with that money? Well, he bought Erika, for example, earrings worth three million. She refuses to return them, as we see in the series: she comes up with a drunken tirade about how she is the victim, that she doesn’t care about anyone but herself, and that those victims might not even be victims at all. Aiii, ugly. When her friends Dorit, Lisa Rinna, and Kyle try to save her, she wants nothing to do with it and just starts screaming even louder. Classy.

Strangely enough, that’s not what everyone is talking about right now, because Lisa Rinna turned out to be the ideal lightning rod. The ladies were all out in Aspen and dove into the club. Kathy Hilton (Kyle Richards’ sister) had just had a bit too much to drink and was escorted home by Lisa Rinna. Apparently, things went completely wrong at home because Lisa Rinna sent texts to Erika Jayne saying she had locked herself in the bathroom because she was so scared of Kathy. Apparently, she went completely off the rails: she threatened everyone around her and screamed that she would destroy Kyle and her family.

A striking detail is that the cameramen never seem to miss any drama on outings like these, but they just missed this. When the reunion of this season was aired, we also saw that it was admitted that the drama surrounding Kathy was ideal for Erika Jayne: now she was no longer the big bad.

If you don’t want to watch the whole season, do check out the three episodes of the reunion. Then you’ll be completely up to date and have a good idea of how out of control Lisa Rinna seems to have become.

It’s even so bad that Twitter is now fed up with her: they have actually kicked her off the platform. Although she claims herself that she deleted her account by her own decision, not many people seem to believe that. Even before the reunion was filmed, she went off on social media about Kathy Hilton, reacted to various news articles, and posted several tirades on Instagram. Quite embarrassing, as Andy Cohen also said during the reunion.

It’s even so bad that fans are threatening to boycott the series if Lisa Rinna returns. Kyle seems to have broken off this friendship as well (but is now also not on speaking terms with sister Kathy due to all the drama) and Dorit no longer openly supports her either. The only one she still has is Erika Jayne… Birds of a feather?
