New addiction: Real Girlfriends in Paris

Real Girlfriends in Paris

Hayu is well on its way to becoming my most used streaming service. During corona, I binged all the seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, so that's already quite a few hours. But the Ultimate Girls Trip from the same Real Housewives was also a big hit for me, and now on September 6, there's a new addiction coming. I present to you: Real Girlfriends in Paris.

That name immediately made me think of the short but powerful reality series featuring Famke Louise, Models In Paris, where Dutch models tried to get gigs in Paris. With a trip to Monaco, living the jet-set life... Delicious. So I expect a bit of that from this series, and I think it will be fine: Real Girlfriends in Paris follows the lives of six young American expats who shake things up in the French capital.

Also a bit of an Emily in Paris so, but then real life. Funny: I saw the call for this reality series back then in the Stories of DeuxMoi, but I never thought there would actually be a series.

The name indeed didn't become Real Housewives but Real Girlfriends, and that seems to be for a reason: these six ladies are absolutely not stay-at-home wives. For example, Emily Gorelik studied at NYU and is currently working on getting her design management diploma because she ultimately wants to launch her own design furniture brand in Paris. Additionally, she seems to be realizing the shattered dream of Lauren Conrad: she is getting a fashion internship in Paris.

And the rest is also not sitting still: Kacey Margo decided to take a semester off from the American university where she was studying, then fell in love with Paris and started working there as an English teacher. Adja Toure even graduated from the Ivy League university Cornell. No, those Real Girlfriends haven't fallen on their heads and are absolutely not lazy. In other words: a series we want to see.
