Everything you didn't know (but want to know) about Kate Middleton

Somewhere in a palace or on an estate of the Kensingtons, Kate a.k.a. Catherine Middleton blows out 40 candles this weekend. Although the Duchess of Cambridge was not averse to a party in the past (she regularly hit the town in London), royal experts believe that Kate is going for a cozy family birthday. A good time to reveal some fun facts about Catherine.

Kate lived a long time as Waity Katy. The Brits gave her this not-so-flattering nickname because William and Kate had an on-and-off relationship for about five years. On his twenty-first birthday, the prince finally dared to introduce Kate to grandma Elizabeth. And it’s only official in England when you’ve met Queen Liz.

Waity Katy is not the only name Catherine received. She thrives on nicknames. For fun, she once flashed her butt out the window (cool Kate) in high school and was unanimously dubbed Kate Middlebum. By the way, she and her sister were also named after the school guinea pigs Pip and Squeak. Sister Pippa was of course Pip and Kate went by Squeak. But the most remarkable thing about her name? The email Kate sent to her friends in 2008 kindly requesting to call her Catherine from then on. Aaaaiii, a bit awkward.

The Duchess prefers to spend time outdoors, but she’s not averse to lounging on the couch a bit. Kate therefore also just binges a series from time to time. Ah, she has remained so wonderfully down-to-earth. The favorites of Wills and Kate that they have officially confirmed? Homeland, Game of Thrones, and Downton Abbey. It is not known if they binge-watched The Crown over a weekend.

The Duchess used to work as an accessory buyer for the brand Jigsaw. The fun part is that she is still regularly spotted in the clothing brand. She is especially a fan of the brand's high-waisted pants, and she is often seen in those.

The Duchess is totally fab in her forties. Sources say that Kate has never felt as good as she does now. Could this be related to Meghan's departure? That can’t be said for sure, but it is certainly due to the extra duties she took over from Queen Elizabeth. It seems that Waity Katy can't wait to be queen.

Kate loves being a mother. She tries to be present as much and as often as possible for everything those three little ones get up to. Of course, there’s a nanny around at the Kensingtons, but if she has the time, Kate does it herself.
