Heatwave? With these fashion hacks, you'll survive the hottest days of the year

The Dutch heatwave is on its way and if you always get a spontaneous what to wear panic attack from it, then we are here to take that clothing stress away forever. During a heatwave, it's not the art of combining that helps you along, but there are a number of other hacks you might not have thought of before. How do you survive the hottest days of the year (besides a lot of ice coffee, air conditioning, and lying horizontally along the coastline)? From clothing with extra busy prints to wearing your swimsuit as a bodysuit, here are 10 tips from me for you. Give it a try!
1. Cotton and linen are your two best friends. Both materials do not trap heat and allow moisture to evaporate quickly. That's right, no sweat marks for you.
2. Choose your color. The color of your clothing is extra important when it's warm. Light clothing reflects the sun's rays (a case of what you want) and dark clothing absorbs heat like crazy, something you’d prefer to skip on these kinds of days.
3. Try to avoid synthetic fabrics like polyester and viscose as much as possible. These fabrics let zero air through and can cause huge sweat marks.
4. Wear items with extra colorful, cheerful, and especially busy prints so that the sweaty spots that do decide to show up won't stand out.
5. Avoid gray; sweat marks show up the fastest on this color.
6. Loose maxi dresses are the way to go. Why? They cool you down the quickest because the wind blows through your clothing with every step.
7. Always walk in the shade with one of these beautiful hats.
8. Skip chafing thighs with an extra wide (and thus extra cooling) culotte or wide leg.
9. Go for a swimsuit as a bodysuit. This way, you wear not two, but one layer over your favorite shorts towards the beach.
10. Dare to use the fan. Besides that lovely breeze the fan provides, it's also a really stylish accessory.
