How much money do you give at a wedding?

Wedding season has officially started and I LOVE it. Two years ago I was still in a real baby boom, now suddenly quite a few friends are getting married. I really like this wedding boom that I am in right now. I haven't (yet) managed to catch the bouquet, but that's of course just a matter of time, because that's what I'm going for.
What I didn't know much about is what exactly you should give at a wedding. If the couple prefers a gift in the form of money, how much is a bit acceptable at a wedding? I found it quite difficult to find some clarity about this on the internet, so I did some research. Recognizable? Then I have a handy overview for you here. These amounts are all per person, by the way.
If it's someone (or a couple) you know well, who you consider to be close friends or family: then stick to between 50 euros and 150 euros.
If you consider them to be slightly less good friends and other family, then an amount between 30 and 60 euros is maintained.
For all other people (such as colleagues and acquaintances), an amount between 20 and 40 euros is the norm.
There are of course some exceptions to this, for example if you attended the bachelor party; you can also include those costs in the final amount you give. In general, the amount you give also depends on how much you cost as a guest, you usually pay how much you cost for the wedding. Usually, a venue assumes about two and a half drinks per person per hour. If a wedding consists of a day and evening program and you are only invited for the latter, then you can calculate what a good gift is for you. Note: your +1 also counts as a separate person.
In addition, it also depends on your own financial situation. If you are recently unemployed or don't have much money to spend for whatever reason, then there will definitely be understanding from the couple getting married. You should definitely take your own situation into account in your calculation.
