Huh? Instagram is removing users en masse without reason

It seems to me that something is not quite right with Instagram. On Twitter, it is being reported en masse that user accounts are being deleted for no reason — and they can no longer log in. Not only Dutch users are experiencing this, but people worldwide are reporting on Twitter that they can no longer access their accounts. Here in the editorial office, we are also affected: reports that you can no longer access your Instagram, and meanwhile, dozens of reports are coming in with verification codes for unknown phone numbers.
There are so many reports that it really seems to be a malfunction — and not that the accounts have actually been deleted. Instagram has now also confirmed this on their Twitter account. So don't worry; your account has not been deleted. We did receive a tip here that if you get that pop-up, you should not click on anything. This way, you prevent your data from being lost, which is quite handy.
Huh? Wtf did I do!? Someone must have reported me falsely or something. #instagram #shit pic.twitter.com/0tXVTuBhfE
