Yesss, finally it was time: I could cross a mega bucket list item off my list. One that had been on there for about twenty years. Silly, right, that it’s only happening now? But hey, better late than never, and so I boarded the plane to Iceland in December.
One thing you should know about me: I’m all about organizing. My best friend came along, he’s absolutely not into organizing (maybe that’s why we make a good travel team) and left it all up to me. I can genuinely have a lot of fun endlessly scrolling on Booking.com, looking for the best, most beautiful, and coolest accommodations. And I can tell you: that brought quite a bit of choice stress with it, because Iceland has so many beautiful accommodations. Additionally, I slightly underestimated how big the country is (pretty big, it turns out), so in terms of locations, we really had a lot of options. In the end, I’m quite sure I managed to secure the most beautiful accommodations, but I’ll tell you more about that later, of course.
Another thing that struck me was that the flights to Iceland were really quite affordable. I flew with Transavia, and what might have been even more convenient: I could book that flight right away with Booking.com Booking.com. And the car right away as well. Love it. Because I love organizing, but I also love having an overview. So flight + accommodations + car rental.
through one site = happy me.
And why Iceland? Well, I can hardly imagine that you need to be convinced about that. It’s a country I’ve never seen before. It has incredibly beautiful nature. We were there in December, which of course means snow, and seeing such a gigantic waterfall completely white is something really special.
