What are yacht girls?

Hello and good afternoon from sunny Côte d’Azur. Yes, it is lovely here, you know. After two days in Cannes, I am now in Grasse and have a great view of the swimming pool as my office of the day. My mission has so far failed, because it was as follows: to get on such a yacht. I really want to take a tour on the coolest boat that is there. But unfortunately, I don’t know anyone there at all, and I don’t think it’s appreciated if you just hop on. And just before I wanted to give up, someone gave me the tip: just become a yacht girl. Uh, what?

Yes, that is indeed a thing. Yacht girls are girls who are hired as escorts for high-end clients. That term was coined because it was initially always on yachts, where those girls were hired to come along. Meanwhile, it is no longer limited to just yachts, although that still happens the most.

Yachting has also penetrated Hollywood. For example, famous models are said to be hired as yacht girls during huge events like the Cannes Film Festival. So you earn loads of money and get to party with celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio on a gigantic yacht. I can think of worse things.

Which models would have earned a little extra cash? Well, you’ll be surprised, because there are really big names among them. Emily Ratajkowski, Naya Rivera, Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Miranda Kerr, and even Meghan Markle. Only the first one admitted in her book ‘My Body’: she was paid $25,000 to go to the Super Bowl with a Malaysian millionaire.
