Drinking wine and getting paid for it: that sounds like a joke, but it's really true. More specifically: white wine from the Spanish Rueda – and any wine lover knows that it's really delicious. If you become the new Winefluencer who can best promote the wine region Rueda, you will receive a nice amount of money and be the face of this area on social media for a year. And… You will also receive enough Rueda Verdejo to fulfill the role of Winefluencer.
The Spanish wine region Rueda is looking for so-called Winefluencers for the third year in a row who want to promote the wine region on social media. A winner will be sought in the Netherlands and one in Belgium. Both winners will receive an amount of no less than €5,000.
Mmm, a glass of fresh Verdejo
To help you get started: the large and extensive wine region D.O. Rueda is one of the most important white wine areas in Spain. It is the area where that delicious Verdejo [pronounced: berdego] is made from the same-named grape. A glass of Verdejo is always a good idea. These wines from Rueda are juicy, fruity, and refreshing as well. Really a wine that everyone likes, according to sommeliers.
The vineyards in Rueda are located at a high altitude, namely about 700 to 850 meters above sea level. Here, the grapes sweat in the burning Spanish sun and at night they shiver from the cold. And it is precisely at that moment that they are harvested, because that is how that crispy freshness is preserved.
