What is going on with Kanye and why is no one intervening?

Those who have known me for a bit longer than today know: I do love a good conspiracy theory. So I completely believe that the announcement of Kylie's new sprout was no coincidence at all. Because the devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder. The Kardashian family needed a good distraction from everything that is going on. Because it is — to put it mildly — quite a shitshow between Kanye and Kim. And Instagram.

This weekend, Kanye posted several things on Instagram, of which North on TikTok is the trigger. Here's how it is: North has an account together with mother Kim on TikTok and Kanye does not agree with that, because he thinks North is too young to be on an app like TikTok. It all started with the following caption, which he put with a screenshot of North's TikToks on Instagram: ‘SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL?’

One thing we learned this weekend is that Kanye West has a Caps Lock key on his keyboard and he is not afraid to use it. In fact, I think it's stuck. Moreover, these are quite serious accusations he is making towards Kim on Instagram. For example, he claims she said he would want to have her killed, that she thought he was on drugs at North's birthday, and that she would accuse him of stealing.

Sometimes it's a bit hard to follow what Kanye is writing (I think, partly due to all those words in Caps Lock), but what is clear is that there is quite a mess going on. Kim also responded to her Stories this weekend, something Kanye naturally had a response to.

But what I wondered: why is no one taking Kanye's phone away? Aside from the whole discussion about whether North should or should not be on TikTok, this seems to be the most awkward way to fight it out. You want your eight-year-old daughter off social media, so you start a complete war... On social media, with a screenshot of your own daughter.

One of the comments under his posts made me laugh: ‘Kanye, can you please take us out of the group chat?’ It feels a bit uncomfortable and strange to witness a divorce battle like this. And it mainly seems that things are just really not going well with Kanye.

The rapper has spoken before about his bipolar disorder, something he takes medication for. However, he claims he does not take that medication when he is making new music. The last time he was off his medication, he also went off the rails; that was on Twitter and it was about the Kardashians. He gave Kris the nickname Kris Jong-un, but also during his performances, he proclaimed things like that he actually wanted an abortion when Kim was pregnant with North.

Now, the care system in America — surprisingly — works a bit differently than ours. It is quite difficult to get someone involuntarily to the hospital when they are experiencing mental issues. When this does happen, there must really be a serious situation, a situation in which someone could seriously hurt themselves or others.

This happened to Kanye once in 2016, when he was forcibly taken from his home in LA. The police were alerted at the time and upon arrival, they found that there was absolutely a ‘medical emergency’.

Such a mandatory hospital stay is never for a long time: they can only hold you for a maximum of 96 hours (excluding weekends), with a few exceptions, and that varies by state.

It basically comes down to the fact that things really need to go wrong with Kanye or that he has to come to insight himself; until that time, there is little that can be done. For now, he has removed all posts (except for the photo with the TikTok rules on it), so maybe there is currently a ceasefire between Kanye and Kim.
