Bachelors, do you already know the latest dating trend?

New dating trend dawn dating

For the singles, I have spotted a trend in dating that I would like to inform you about. Especially for the early birds among us, this new form of dating is ideal. I present to you: dawn dating. As the word suggests, this involves a date that takes place in the morning. Think of having a cozy breakfast together or taking a walk in the park with a coffee in the early morning.

Probably not everyone will be very enthusiastic about this idea at first. After all, it doesn't seem ideal to show up on a date with your sleepy head. Moreover, I am absolutely not approachable before my first coffee, so to be honest, I don't want to think about it myself. And what if you find your date completely uninteresting? Then it becomes quite difficult to say: ‘Hey, it's already quite late, I think I'll just head out.’ Well, there you are then, at eleven o'clock in the morning with scrambled eggs.

Still, quite a few singles have already successfully ventured into dawn dating. According to data from dating app Badoo (the platform surveyed 1000 users), 51 percent of singles have recently had a date in the early morning or would like to. Additionally, 71 percent of singles indicated they would be impressed if someone asked them for a morning date. Personally, I believe I would feel a bit overlooked, as if you are being squeezed into someone else's schedule because the evening is already full.

But what do singles find so attractive about this concept? To begin with, the absence of alcohol. I can definitely relate to this, as I find nothing less attractive than someone who is completely drunk on the first date. And let's not forget that this also limits the risk of embarrassing yourself right away. I once had a date (sad but true) at the Kopstootbar, where I fell down the stairs after a few rounds of tequila. The worst part? This was recounted to me the next day by none other than my date. Well, in that case, I would have preferred to deal with those dark circles under my eyes during a coffee date in Vondelpark.

Well, about 35 percent also indicated that they simply find dawn dating a fun way to start their day. I can certainly understand that, as it is always better than a sports class for work. Additionally, 34 percent feel fresher and more energetic during a morning date – these are undoubtedly the early birds who are wide awake hours before the appointment. Moreover, dawn dating also seems to be the way to get to know someone on a deeper level; according to 37 percent of singles, the early timing makes such a meeting more interesting. It certainly seems interesting to me, especially when your date shows up with a heavy morning mood, then you immediately know who you are dealing with.

Finally, a third (let's call them the selfish singles) indicated that by having a date in the morning, they do not have to disrupt their entire evening plans. Dawn dating allows them to hang out carefreely with their friends at the pub in the evening. Well, there is something to be said for that too.

Well dear singles, I would say: give it a try, dating in the early morning.
