Lizzo changes lyrics after fan criticism
Celebrities listen to criticism, think about it, and then do something with it and bring out a mature apology with responsibility: it is possible. It exists. And Lizzo just showed how it's done. Her new song GRRRLS received quite a bit of criticism from fans.
It was about the lyrics: ‘hold by mag, bitch / do you see this shit? / I’m a spaz / I’m about to knock somebody out.’ The word ‘spaz’ is also used to refer negatively to people who suffer from spasms. It makes sense that she, but actually all listeners in general, were not very pleased with this lyric.
That reached Lizzo herself quite quickly — not so strange, given that TikTok was full of it — and she decided that her fans might actually be completely right about this. That word was unnecessary in her lyrics and was therefore changed, including a lengthy apology. And now fans are happy with Lizzo again, Lizzo herself is also happy again, and the song will undoubtedly become a huge TikTok hit again. All's well that ends well.
