Whut: M&M’s are good for your health

Things that can make me happy: studies showing that my favorite snacks are ‘good for you’. Love it. I can't get enough of it. So when I read that M&M’s have quite a few health benefits and that you should eat the ones filled with peanuts — in other words, my favorite — I think that's just fantastic news.

Of course, M&M’s contain a lot of sugar and you shouldn't eat bags full of them (unfortunately), but a few or a handful really can't hurt. In fact: it can have its benefits, especially if you go exercise afterwards. Those sugars do provide a nice energy boost. Additionally, peanuts are also a responsible snack, which means that M&M’s with peanuts aren't so bad after all.

Peanuts are packed with plant-based proteins, which you can definitely use. Again, these are good during exercise: the plant-based proteins come in handy for building muscles.

Additionally, M&M’s are of course made of chocolate, which has health benefits that have been proven before. For example, chocolate contains calcium, which is good for your bones and teeth. But for your mental state, chocolate is also good: it reduces stress and you produce more happiness hormones. Side note: the purer the chocolate, the more this applies. But every little bit helps, right?

Okay, marking M&M’s as an ultra-healthy snack might be a bit too much, but having a handful before exercising isn't so crazy after all. I think it's good news.
