The modest birthday party of North West

North West birthday party

It apparently took me nine years to realize that North West shares her birthday with my youngest. And incredibly but true, there are a few similarities between her party and my youngest's. North went to a survival camp (aptly named Camp North) and my girl took her friends to a climbing park, also survival/outdoor with challenges. There, I fear, the comparison ends. While I was scrambling to gather cars (due to a widespread staff shortage, it was also impossible to arrange two taxi vans) to take the whole crowd to the climbing location and back, Kim's private jet was already ready for the girls. And because a regular jet is just so boring, the plane was stylishly decorated with spider webs, a few stuffed animals, and some other elements bringing excitement and thrill. When we got home, we had a feast of homemade fries and hot dogs, a triennial (because three daughters) tradition where my beloved's goal is to even tempt the picking-up parents with a plate of grease.

I don't think Kanye was poking at a fire somewhere at Camp North to bake some sandwiches for the girls. I guess a celebrity chef was flown in to provide the girls with their snacks and drinks. I'm also curious about North's gift. It surely wasn't a tennis racket and a necklace with pendants from ByNouck, which our girl was so happy with.

Whether North was happier and more satisfied after her party than our girl, I can't judge, but that at the end of the day, with a fresh glass of rosé in hand while my love slid a plate of fries with Hellmann's mayonnaise towards me, I was happier than Kim, I dare to place a bet on that.
