These movies help the most against heartbreak

When you're heartbroken, you often want nothing more than to disappear under a blanket on the couch with a big tub of Ben & Jerry's. I know: this is the biggest cliché ever, and yet it's true. Naturally, on such days, you're not looking forward to watching a romantic tearjerker by Nicholas Sparks, because that will only make you feel even worse.
What should you do then? Unfortunately, I don't have the solution for heartbreak, but the films below will at least help you get through that break-up a little bit:
Legally Blonde
This movie remains my favorite. Spirit animal Elle Woods proves in Legally Blonde that she is more than just a pretty blonde woman. She is funny, sweet, smart, and ultimately blows everyone away with her knowledge. In other words: a powerful independent woman who reminds you of your worth during your break-up. Elle to the rescue.
He’s just not that into you
Old but gold: He’s just not that into you. This movie is exactly what you need during a break-up. The story is about different types of relationships and how you know when the right moment has come to move on. Useful advice and also hilarious, you will definitely feel better because of this.
Bridesmaids
Speaking of hilarious movies: with Bridesmaids, you can't help but cry from laughter. And how nice is it to see that it can always get worse? Because that's what this movie shows you: a realistic view of love that is really not always that romantic.
Someone Great
This Netflix Original is really made for people who have just broken up. Someone Great is about a woman who has to start her life over after being dumped by her beloved. So if you're looking for inspiration and strength for your new single life, this is an absolute must-watch.
Mamma Mia!
If there’s one story that makes you happy, it’s definitely Mamma Mia! Just to sing along loudly with all the amazing songs, it’s worth putting this movie on. Of course, there’s also a lot to learn from Donna and all her men. If she has endured all that, you can too.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
I admit that this is one of the worst Netflix Originals I have ever seen, but it still deserves a spot on this list. This is the ideal swoon movie where you can forget everything for a moment. The story is about a girl who has written a letter to every boy she has ever had a crush on. She just never actually sent these letters, until her sister decides to do it years later. You guessed it: drama. And what’s better to watch when you feel miserable? Exactly: someone else's drama.
Nappily ever after
This movie is truly a breath of fresh air for anyone who has just stepped out of a relationship. The main character in the story has strived for perfection her whole life: the perfect relationship, the perfect job, and even the perfect hair. But after an incident at the hairdresser, she suddenly wonders if this is the life she wants to lead: does perfection even exist? Or is this simply something that others expect from her? In short, an eye-opener for all singles.
