8 x new movies to look forward to this year

My god, how I miss the cinemas. The cozy little rooms, mixed sweet-salty popcorn with M&M's, but especially the feeling of being completely in another world: that's what I long for. Please let those cinemas open again soon, because there are a number of mega films planned for 2022 that I absolutely want to see. As soon as it's allowed again, I want to be the first to see Spider-Man, because I haven't even had the chance for that. Once I've checked that off, I would love to watch the next list of films on the big screen.
1. King Richard (February 3)
This film is based on the story of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams. How they grow up, how their father has mapped out a whole plan for them to become successful, and how they ultimately reach the top. I’m already crying from the trailer, what a special story. Oh, and the father is played by Will Smith, do I need to say more?
2. C’mon C’mon (February 3)
Finally another black-and-white film, I love it and I'm sure this is going to be a very ‘real’ film. C’mon C’mon is about a radio journalist (played by Joaquin Phoenix, who played the Joker) who has to take care of his little nephew for a while at the request of his sister. He takes him under his wings during a road trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans. The filmmaker wants to tell this special story as an ode to the generation of the future and those who raise them.
3. The black phone (February 3)
YES: horror. I really love horror films. This film has already been very well received and highly rated, which is quite unusual for this genre. Often I can't get anyone to go with me to these kinds of films, as few of my friends like horror, but I managed to convince Wieke to go, so she will be my new victim as soon as the cinemas open.
4. The Batman (March 3)
Yaaa Batman, finally again and with a cast that you can't argue with. Among others, my great love Robert Pattinson and forever crush Zoë Kravitz (as Catwoman) star in this film. This is going to be really good, I can feel it.
5. Fantastic Beasts: The secrets of Dumbledore (April 15)
Anything that has anything to do with Harry Potter, I'm definitely in. This is already the third part of Fantastic Beasts. And yes, I just have to talk about the cast (men) again: Mads Mikkelsen as wizard Gellert Grindelwald and Jude Law as Professor Albus Dumbledore. Pff, I'm ready for it.
6. Jurassic World Dominion (June 10)
Jurassic fans have had to wait quite a long time for this. The film was actually supposed to come out on June 11, 2021, and has been postponed exactly a year. But well, patience is rewarded and it will surely be worth the wait.
7. Lightyear (June 17)
This makes me sentimental, you know. We're going back to the time of Toy Story, where Buzz Lightyear is the buddy of cowboy Woody. This film is about the adventures of the ‘real’ astronaut, on whom the toy Buzz Lightyear is based. Of course, Buzz Lightyear didn't really exist, but his character is based on astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Hopefully, this story was a bit easy to follow.
8. Avatar 2 (December 16)
Wow wow wow. I found Avatar to be one of the most impressive films I've ever seen. Especially the 3D experience in the cinema: just so good. I'm curious if part 2 can match this, but knowing the creators, they will surely succeed again.
