7 x new nice restaurants in Amsterdam

How much we are enjoying life, right? Now that everything is open again, it seems we are all making a big catch-up. Every restaurant I try to reserve two days in advance is fully booked. Of course, that's great for the hospitality industry, and for me, it's another reason to learn to plan better. I am being very good at this by now always reserving well in advance. The money is flying out, but what a joy it is to be able to eat out again; more than worth going completely bankrupt.
Amsterdam has gained a number of beautiful places that I am more than happy to share with you. I definitely recommend making a reservation.
1. Café Twee Prinsen
This cozy café from the owners of café Binnenvisser and restaurant Cornerstore has opened just around the corner from me. Life-threatening, of course. Twee Prinsen has the soul of a cozy Amsterdam brown café, but beautifully and tastefully decorated. The café is located in the heart of the city on the beautiful Prinsenstraat. From behind the large high windows, you look out over the water and are right in the bustling Amsterdam. In the morning, you can come here for a delicious coffee with a croissant, and in the evening, they make room for good wines and tasty snacks, such as Portuguese sardines. So, rolling home for me.

2. Café Beurre
The Staatsliedenbuurt has gained a vegetarian gem. The name says it all: here they cook with butter. Owner Kim Jongbloed believes that a knob of butter makes everything tastier, and I fully agree with that. At Café Beurre, you can enjoy a cozy neighborhood atmosphere and delicious French vegetarian dishes. With butter.

3. Helling 7
On the old NDSM site in Amsterdam-Noord lies Helling 7. This restaurant is built on an old shipyard, and for the interior, old materials from the yard have been used. It all turned out quite well. It has a gigantic terrace that overlooks the IJ beautifully, and besides the nice appearance of the place, the food here is also amazing. They prepare all their dishes over an open fire, which you can witness from your table. From roasted artichoke, celery root, and eggplant to the fish of the day; everything is thrown on the fire here, and it all tastes divine.

4. Cornerstore
We stay a little longer in Noord, where the owners of Binnenvisser and my new local Café Twee Prinsen have opened Cornerstore. What a nice atmosphere here. The changing menu features experimental dishes with a Japanese twist, yet accessible to everyone. The menu also contains more than enough vegetarian options. The last time I was here, I drank a delicious spritz called Yuzu the Plum. Don't ask me what was in it; it was just divine. And what’s the best part about this restaurant? They play records behind the bar all evening long; that’s pure enjoyment, right? This is the kind of place where you want to hang out on a Friday night, and you can definitely do that until around two o'clock.

5. De Juwelier
De Juwelier is the newest restaurant from chefs Richard van Oostenbrugge and Thomas de Groot. This duo already has two stars to their name, and you can definitely taste that. At this place, you can enjoy culinary delights, but in a cozy bistro-like atmosphere. The menu consists of four starters, three intermediate dishes, and five main courses. Prices range from €15 for a starter to €30 for a main course. From roasted turbot in lobster sauce to caramel ice cream with smoked sea salt and olive oil: it’s all equally delicious.

6. Restaurant Mont Blanc
In the always vibrant Pijp, fine dining restaurant Mont Blanc has opened. Chef and owner Casasole was born in the French Albens, near Mont Blanc. He wants to introduce his guests to the flavors and atmospheres of his region at a culinary level. Therefore, the owners regularly take a trip to the French Alps to do some shopping. If you go here to eat, make sure to keep the whole evening free, because this is an experience you want to take your time for. You can choose from a menu consisting of five courses (€75) or seven courses (€100). These prices are exclusive of wines.

7. Le Coeur
Just for the extensive champagne list and the great wine selection, you must visit Le Coeur. You will find this atmospheric place in the Negen Straatjes, where you can order the most delicious shared dining dishes. They cook with seasonal products, so the menu changes regularly. I would definitely reserve a spot at the beautiful long bar because you want to stay here all evening. You can also easily walk in here in the afternoon for a quick bite or a glass of delightful wine.
