And I kept thinking that how well you can handle alcohol mainly has to do with habituation. For years I worked on it, taking shot after shot, enduring my entire student life while drinking, but that was all unnecessary. I had it in me all along. I have blue eyes and apparently, you can handle alcohol much better than people with other eye colors. Well, case of #winning.

Georgia State University researched this: thousands of men and women participated in this study (unfortunately, they didn't ask me), who had dark and light eyes. The study revealed that people with brown eyes really can handle alcohol worse and that seems to be due to the amount of melanin in the body. People with dark eyes have more melanin (which is what makes your eyes dark) and that affects your sensitivity to alcohol.

Good news all around? Well, that's not entirely true. Because at the University of Vermont, a study was also conducted on the relationship between alcohol and your eye color. They found that people with blue eyes are also more sensitive to becoming alcoholics. Naaah, great then. I already wrote last summer about the guidelines for alcoholism and how bad I am at dealing with it, so with my blue eyes, I might need to be more careful...
