Proven: millennials prefer travel over sex

girl standing outside in natureWe can say that the ultimate millennial is incredibly busy getting fit, listening to podcasts about self-love, waking up immensely early, cooking healthy, and above all: creating as much freedom for themselves. Freedom to set their own working hours, explore the world, and pursue great happiness. In short: the millennial is quite busy with themselves.

But it gets worse: most millennials find traveling so important nowadays that they are even willing to give up their sex life for it. Research from booking platform Contiki shows that no less than 57 percent of respondents would set their sex life aside for the opportunity to travel. Well, I really can't count myself as a millennial among this 57 percent.

For this research, more than 1500 millennials (aged 18 to 35) from America were surveyed about their travel urge. What else would they give up to be able to travel? It turns out quite a lot. For example, 60 percent indicated they would give up carbohydrates, 77 percent would stop drinking coffee, and 73 would give up alcohol to explore the world. Isn't that absurd? What's fun about traveling if you can't enjoy a coffee in the sun somewhere? Or a cold beer with your feet in the sand. I'm starting to doubt more and more whether I am a real millennial.

Finally, 41 percent were willing to give up their phone to travel. Somewhere I don't find this super surprising, because what could be nicer than finding peace in the middle of nowhere without the noise of your phone? Yet I doubt the honesty of the respondents, because don't millennials want to capture everything that happens in their lives? Especially the highlights?

Don't get me wrong: I really love traveling, but to give up all the above things for it? Pizza, pasta, coffee, wine, sex, and everything that makes me incredibly happy? Not a chance.
