Ridiculously expensive products from the supermarket

The Quality Control Agency has gone through the supermarket with a magnifying glass and a calculator and they discovered: certain products are really exorbitantly priced. Or parsley expensive, as they say, because dried parsley costs no less than 237 euros per kilo. Ka-ching!

You know you're making yourself poor when you Wagyu steak, white truffles, and caviar in your shopping cart, but there are many more exorbitantly priced products in the supermarket, and where you least expect it. The critical journalists from the Quality Control Agency have recalculated the prices of products to per-kilo prices and that provides surprising insights. For example, it turns out that chocolate cake decorations are ridiculously expensive. For a bar of Tony’s, you pay the equivalent of 16 euros per kilo, but chocolate cake decorations are more than twice as expensive: no less than 33 euros per kilo.

Herbs? I can't afford that
Those weren't the most expensive groceries, because for example anchovies with capers you pay 38 euros per kilo. It's a good thing it comes in those tiny cans... Further down their list: nettle tea (57 euros per kilo), dip sauce mix (58 euros), and stevia, you know, that sweetener: 84 euros. The most expensive: dried herbs. Dried parsley comes in at an impressive 237 euros per kilo, bay leaves cost 312.50 euros per kilo, and for a kilo of chives, you pay almost 400 euros!

But it can get even worse: if you include personal care products like day cream and shower gel in the price comparison, you'll be completely shocked. Night cream comes to 237 euros and day cream is slightly cheaper: 173 euros per kilo. The top: eye cream, for 837 euros per kilo.
