See: New Netflix movie with Mila Kunis is coming

Luckiest girl alive on Netflix

Do you remember the time when Netflix was on the rise? When it was still questionable whether Netflix movies could participate in the Oscars, for example, and big actors were hesitant to take the plunge? Well, that's completely in the past now. We already had Leo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in Don’t Look Up, and now we get Mila Kunis in Luckiest Girl Alive.

There are two things I really like about this: first, I have a girl crush on Mila Kunis, and second, I actually thought she had pretty much stopped acting. Okay, one more thing: it's a thriller. LOVE IT. The trailer just dropped and it looks really amazing.

Mila Kunis plays Ani FaNelli, who starts working at The New York Times and seems to have everything together. A good job in a dream city and a nice partner she is engaged to, for example. But what no one knows is that she carries a pretty dark secret from her past — even her partner knows nothing about it.

Everything seems to come to light when a director of a true crime documentary contacts her because he wants Ani to tell her side of the story. What story? That isn't entirely clear in the trailer yet, but it is definitely a serious incident from the time when Ani was a teenager and a student at the prestigious Brentley School. From the trailer, we can also gather that Ani would prefer that absolutely no one knows about this.

By the way, if you want to spoil yourself, you can: The Luckiest Girl Alive is based on a book of the same title, written by Jessica Knoll. I immediately added it to my virtual shopping cart because this sounds exactly like a story I would love.

Still waiting for the Netflix release? I get it, we just have to wait another month: it will be online on October 7.
