Do something about that autumn skin

May and Annelijn from Skin Clinic

Summer sun is not the best for your skin, but don't think that autumn is the ideal season for your skin.

In autumn, your skin becomes drier and due to the buildup of dead skin cells, your skin may look duller than in summer. The texture of the skin may also have become rougher and fine lines may have developed.

That's why this is a good time to refresh your skin. With a laser treatment or peeling, you can immediately address the sun damage you incurred in the summer. This is the ideal laser season because you will be in the sun less now.

A peeling can bring the skin into good condition and prevents skin aging. At Skin Clinic various peeling treatments are offered, specifically tailored to your skin. The person treating you will advise you on which peeling best suits your skin and your needs.

During a peeling treatment, a liquid with a specific acid is applied to the skin. The acid essentially dissolves a layer of the skin; a nice fresh skin becomes visible. Is there more sun damage visible and have pigmentation spots surfaced? Then laser treatments provide a solution. They can safely and effectively treat pigmentation spots and UV damage.

The pigments absorb the heat from the specific laser light, causing the spots to be controlled damaged and cleared away by the skin. The result: an even skin! I have already made my appointment again because I firmly believe in laser treatments. Besides evening out the skin, it also reduces fine lines and gives your skin a boost that encourages skin renewal.

Skin tips for autumn:

  • Don't shower too long and too hot to prevent your skin from drying out. With the current gas prices, long showers are also much too expensive.
  • Moisturize your skin more often with a nice fragrance-free skin oil like jojoba oil.
  • Don't forget your lips either; due to moisture loss, they can become drier. Choose a lip balm without fragrance and minty substances. A bit of Vaseline works wonders too.
  • Continue to protect your skin daily from the sun in autumn; SPF 15 is sufficient.
