Special Forces VIPS is the most fun programme of the moment
Of course, I entertain you every week with Expeditie Robinson, or at least, I try to, but I’m very sorry to say that I might have a new number one. So now I look forward to Wednesday more than to Monday. Very intense, but I have become a big fan of Special Forces VIPS. It comes online every Wednesday (so tomorrow) and I’m already really looking forward to it. I really think this is the best show at the moment.

Why? There are several reasons, but it does have something to do with Expeditie Robinson; in recent years it has mainly been about forming alliances and it is more often the rule than the exception that the physically strongest wins. And then those seasons in which both celebrities (of whom I still don’t know more than half) and ‘unknowns’ (who could just as well have been celebrities, because I don’t know either group) participated. The celebrities clicked so well together, as if they are really two completely different kinds of people. Moreover, the name ‘unknowns’ evokes quite a bit of aggression in me; as if that makes you inferior right away. I still believe that those two groups should have been mixed from the start.

But anyway, back to Special Forces VIPS. It’s not about forming alliances, but purely about survival and getting the most out of yourself. Not on a deserted island, but this could physically be quite a bit tougher. And even though the word ‘VIPS’ is attached to it, the known status of the participants really won’t help them at all.

And that’s why you really see the person behind a celebrity. Where I mainly know Kaj Gorgels as a presenter and from his podcast with Monica Geuze in which he avoids a really serious topic with silly jokes, I see him here as a real go-getter with absolutely a serious side. And also someone who supports his group enormously and is incredibly sweet. But also a Donny Roelvink, whom I have now become a bit in love with. It’s hard to miss that he can handle quite a bit physically given his muscles, but what a sweet and nice guy he is, I must say.

Just like Mariska van Kolck, who at 58 years old has trained hard for this program and really gives everything. So tough.

So does no one fall through the cracks? Uh, yes. Sorry Ferry Doedens, but how did you think it went? HAHA. Well, in Special Forces VIPS it’s also about loyalty and that’s not for everyone.

Tomorrow there’s a new episode again. CAN'T WAIT. And would I ever participate myself? Not a hair on my head thinks about it. I would probably drop out at the auditions of the preliminaries, I fear.
