This is the Golden Tip against those annoying red bumps after shaving

Hair growth is always a thing. I see it more as a problem, but some see it as something from Mother Nature and just leave it be. Everyone has their opinion, right? If I could choose, I would prefer to laser everything away tomorrow, well, in the places where I don't want to see it: on my legs, under my arms, and on my bikini line. Especially that annoying bikini line always remains a sensitive issue: red bumps and irritations are often the big problem, and I believe I'm not the only one who struggles with this (especially in the summer). When I was thirteen, I read in a girls' magazine the golden tip: talcum powder. And it works, believe me. Since then, I have hardly ever had any issues.

This is due to the moisture-absorbing, cooling effect of talcum powder. It reduces friction, which can cause those annoying skin irritations like bumps and redness. After all, we walk around all day with underwear and clothing on, well, most of us do, and that's why it's handy to protect your sensitive skin with such a layer. By the way, it also works perfectly against chafing thighs in the summer (yes, really), because it prevents that annoying friction. Additionally, it is of course also important to shave with a sharp and clean razor, so don't just use your friend's or partner's. There are a few more tips that are oh so important for a shaving session without irritations.

1. Take a warm shower to soften your hair and use a shaving gel, soap (the Shaving Bar Alpine Glow is very nice) or foam that is pH-neutral.

2. Pull your skin a little tight and then always shave in the direction of your hair growth, this really reduces the chance of irritations. You can shave your legs in different directions, as they are often a bit less sensitive.

3. Feel under your armpits beforehand how your hair growth is exactly and follow that line; often this is from bottom to top and not the other way around.

4. Rinse your razor frequently under warm water, you want to have as few hair and shaving gel/foam residues under your super sharp blades as possible.

5.  It is also good to scrub your skin occasionally, when it's calm. This can prevent ingrown hairs and remove dead skin cells that can also cause irritations. Do this carefully and don't be too rough.

6.  Then, of course, apply a nice layer of talcum powder (I do this every day in the summer). If you then put on a nice black dress or shorts, do turn around in front of the mirror, because sometimes you see some gray talcum powder stains. You can easily remove them with your hand or a damp cloth.

Looking for this miracle product? Check at the drugstore among the baby items, you will definitely find one there. Just check the back: usually, talcum powder is made from just one ingredient: talc. The one with menthol is also nice, as it works wonderfully cooling. If there are perfumes or oils in it, I would prefer to look further.
