The Traitors: Discussing episode 5

The Traitors: Discussing episode 5

Could someone have told me that De Verraders only comes online on Saturday on Videoland? I couldn't watch it live, so later on Friday evening I opened my laptop full of longing and then a huge disappointment was waiting for me. I could only start watching from Saturday. Damn, and just when the previews of this episode looked so delicious. Did the episode live up to it? Let’s goooo.

1. Last week I was sick and out of pure boredom I rewatched the first season. I hadn't seen it yet. My conclusion? De Verraders is doing much better this season and I hope they don't pull another Samantha Steenwijk and bring someone else in. The plus points were that the tasks in the previous season were really much more fun. And there were no memorial services for living participants who had to leave the show; immediately a lot less grim.

2. But as I said: these Verraders are really doing extremely well. Jamie is literally the only one left who hasn't been mentioned by anyone.

3. I would be completely confused if I were Ortál. Finally sitting alone with a Verrader at the table, and that one is method acting really hard.

4. Wooow, I really didn't see Esmée going out coming. I really hope she will explain that it's because she played the game and had already figured everything and everyone out.

5. While she hadn't guessed a single Verrader correctly.

6. ‘Yes, everything falls into place. I am really very angry. Oh Babette, Babette, Babette…’ HAHA. Esmée, please let us know how you watched this back. Delightful.

7. Jamie just says to Irene: ‘Maybe I am a Verrader, huh.’ And she just resolutely says: ‘No, you’re not.’ This man can't even make himself suspicious, even if he wanted to.

8. That you join the adventurous group and then have to ride an electric bike. What adventurous tension and excitement.

9. And the academics have to go from a toboggan run. Make it make sense.

10. Irene explaining to the group that she forgot something and you can see Sylvia thinking: you dirty Verrader.

11. Ho ho hooo, Stefano, chill. He really gives everything to keep Ortál in. Is he going to burst into tears? Who knows.

12. If people fall for this, this man really deserves an Oscar. Why on earth would it be better to vote out a Getrouwe instead of a Verrader? How could they fall for this?!

13. Holy shitballs, this episode is really one big chaos. Stefano is turning into the new Daniel Day Lewis with his method acting and commitment, Jamie just says he could be a Verrader and is not believed by anyone, and Sylvia is balancing on a complete breakdown. Intense.

14. By the way, I do feel like I need to lie down after this episode. Just to recover.

15. I really completely missed when and why everyone suspects Ortál. I mean: they are doing really well, but what happened and why did I miss this?

16. Whuuut, Stefano's plan is actually working. Irene out, another Getrouwe. Alexa, play Unstoppable by Sia. These Verraders are really unstoppable.

17. Another #dare to ask: did Sylvia really eat all her makeup because she was wrong with Irene? A promise makes debt.

18. Ah no, tears from Irene, I really can't handle that. What Stefano already said: my childhood hero. If you make Irene from Telekids cry, then you come for me. Verraders, I hope you have a sleepless night after this terrible banishment.

19. And as Frank Evenblij already said: this is really going to be a case of Loenatik together. A third is just a Verrader and someone is going to be murdered tonight. Hats off to how these three are playing this.

20. And just give Stefano a Golden Calf for his performance in this episode.

21. Oooh, that Sylvia, she just betrays her buddy, and she is the very first one to see through Jamie's innocent act. Sorry Syl, but I bet you won't make it through the morning.

22. HAHA. Yes, Stefano: ‘Kill Sylvia, kill Sylvia, KILL SYLVIA.’

23. Okay, shit. It's going to be Toine after all. I don't know, I have a bad feeling about next week. Something in me says that a Verrader is really going out now. Just not Jamie.
