Aiii: ‘these celebs are definitely not nice in real life’

They say: ‘never meet your heroes’, because it can only be disappointing. You have built them up so much in your head; purely in your imagination, you could already become the best of friends. Well, that's quite a high bar you set for someone you don't know at all, and it often can only be disappointing. For example, I think that Taylor Swift and I would really be a golden duo, that's just a fact for me, the only thing standing in the way is that she has no idea I exist. Small detail. My other hero, after whom Taylor Swift is coincidentally named: James Taylor. I have met him and that was everything I hoped for.

Fortunately, I only had nice encounters, but not everyone has had that luck. A topic was opened on Reddit titled: ‘Celebrities that aren’t as nice as they seem’ and the experiences are not very good. Read at your own risk, because maybe the image of one of your favorite celebs will be ruined by this.

1. ‘The Sprouse twins (Cole and Dylan) were notorious jerks at the restaurants and bars of NYU, where they studied. A friend worked there at the time. She hated both of them.’

2. ‘Britney and her sister Jamie Lynn... Britney was incredibly sweet but Jamie Lynn gave off such bad vibes. She was rude, constantly had a sour look, and kept ordering things we didn't have at the restaurant where I worked. Singer Pink was not the nicest when she had been drinking; we experienced a few really rude moments with her when she was drunk, but once she sobered up, she was one of the best celebs I have met. So sweet. Dr. Dre and Eminem were always super nice, just extremely private and quiet. Dolly Parton is an angel. After working in hospitality, I worked for a while as a makeup artist and the biggest surprise for me was Ariana Grande. I expected her to be super private and not talk to anyone and maybe even a bit rude. Not at all! Very open, sweet, she talked to everyone, even ran across the street to talk to some fans while her team said she shouldn't do that.’

3. ‘I love these kinds of topics because I want to take every opportunity to tell how terrible Leslie Mann is in real life. A friend of mine works in styling and she is the worst celeb she has ever had to work with. A derogatory and pretentious person.’

4. ‘I met Olivia Wilde very briefly and she was incredibly sweet. So beautiful in real life too. Anna Kendrick was there too and she was... not exactly nice.’

5. ‘Ryan Reynolds is a jerk and one of the meanest celebs you can work with, unless you are rich and famous or when he needs something from you. He does have a great PR team that knows how to mask this.’

6. ‘John Legend is really a jerk. A selfish, rude person. I have never met Chrissy, so I don't know about her.’

7. ‘I can confirm about Ryan Reynolds: my family on my grandmother's side is insanely rich (as in Crazy Rich Asians rich; they outbid the Trumps by buying a skyscraper in New York City), and one of those uncles wanted to invest in a company. Long story short: Ryan assumed my aunt (his wife) was an assistant and he was incredibly rude to her. Therefore, they ultimately did not invest and have hated Ryan Reynolds ever since.’

8. ‘A friend of mine worked backstage at an Olivia Rodrigo concert and he said she was really a nasty person. Constantly rolling her eyes when someone said something to her, she cleaned up nothing behind her and called someone who worked there an ‘ugly bitch’ as she walked away. Really a spoiled brat.’
