These things are even more fun than being in a relationship

Kendall Jenner & Bella Hadid on vacation

Maybe I have it easy because I'm in a relationship myself, but on the other hand, I can precisely confirm that being in a relationship can be quite romanticized. Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming that love isn't fantastic, because it certainly is, but there are so many other things that are at least as enjoyable. So don't be disheartened if you haven't found 'the one' yet, but fully enjoy all your freedom and peace.

Are you heartbroken at the moment? Then the list below is especially nice to go through. These things are actually much more fun than being in a relationship:

1. Vacation with friends
Let's be honest: a vacation with friends is much more fun than going on a trip with your loved one? You probably board the plane completely drunk and then spend a week partying every day and hanging out on the beach during the day, feeling hungover together. No relationship dramas, no guilt about a whole day of shopping, endless complaining about exes, and just having a good laugh.

2. Eating the same thing five times a week
If you feel like pizza every day, then you eat pizza every day. After all, there's no one you need to consider. Plus, you don't have to keep apologizing for all those ready-made chicken schnitzels and lasagna from a tray. Dining every evening with your favorite food: you shouldn't underestimate that happiness.

3. Taking a bath
Taking a bath alone is much more pleasant than together, right? There's always someone shivering or sitting with their legs folded. Floating in the foam by yourself is where you really find peace.

4. A visit to the McDrive
Spontaneously stopping by McDonald's in the car is truly the best thing to do alone. Then enjoying that order in the parking lot and moving on. A little break from the day plus a moment for yourself.

5. Much fewer social obligations
Half as many, to be precise. Fewer family birthdays, no double Christmas dinners, or those terrible forced double dates. Less social burden for singles, which is a big plus.

6. Not having to think
Being in a relationship means, of course, considering each other. For example, letting each other know whether you're eating together or not, planning date nights, not coming home too late when the other has an important day ahead, and so on. If you're single and hanging out somewhere after a party? Then you don't have to consider anyone and can stay as long as you want. That's quite nice, you know.

7. Disney marathons
Who doesn't get happy from a Disney movie? And you know what's great? If you're not in a relationship, you can watch one every day without interruption. Or two or three or four. And don't forget that you can sing along loudly with all the songs, without your partner looking at you annoyed because they are apparently in a Zoom meeting.

8. Never waking up too early because of your partner's alarm
If there's one thing I hate, it's having to get up earlier than my boyfriend. I jealously stare at him every morning, knowing that he gets to sleep in. Conversely, he goes crazy from my alarm, which wakes him up earlier than he would like every morning. As a single, you don't have this problem and can sleep in peacefully.

9. Coming home completely drunk
To then make yourself a delicious toast, without having to be dead silent because your loved one is already asleep. And how nice is it that you don't have to pretend you're not drunk for anyone?

10. Lying like a starfish in bed
No partner pushing you off your half of the bed, no hands in your face or sweaty feet against your legs. Lying alone in bed is heavenly, so enjoy it to the fullest, singles.

11. Online shopping
Ordering hundreds of packages without guilt? That can really only happen when you're alone. Nowadays, I often have things delivered to my brother or parents because otherwise, I constantly hear that I should buy less. As a single, on the other hand, you can carefree build a relationship with your delivery person. That's currently being taken away from me.

12. Exercising
Okay, it might not be the most fun activity on the list, but it's one that makes you feel really good. People in relationships tend to neglect themselves faster because let's face it: binge-watching Netflix on the couch is much more tempting than going to the gym, right? Singles are much more motivated to get fit and thus more than ready for that hot girl summer.
