Everyone is captivated by Succession

I have finished my The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Finally, I must say. The emptiness could hit me so hard that I wanted to postpone another binge session. But now there is a red curl behind episode 24 of season 11 and I said ‘bring it on’ to a fresh addiction.
Never before have all the tastefully inclined people around me been so united and brotherly. They all pointed in one direction: I had to watch Succession. Perhaps the best-made series ever.
Succession is about a fabulously wealthy media family where the father refuses to relinquish his power while his four children are elbowing each other out of the way to gain their father's approval and billions. Succession would have many similarities with the Murdoch family, who also owns a large media company (including Fox News), and where the head of the family, Rupert Murdoch, is also clinging desperately to the helm. It is said that the creators of Succession were working on a film about the Murdoch family when a series seemed like a better idea. The material was, after all, inexhaustible.
What is the strength of the series? The alienating aspect makes it unique. No one is likable, which is actually rare. This narrative element allows you as a viewer to draw an important and healing conclusion: money does a lot, but a lot of money does one thing at least not: make you happy and content.
Sexual misconduct and other issues that need to be quickly swept under the rug are also part of the daily agenda here.
Furthermore, the actors are brilliant. If they weren't, the danger of caricature looms, but they are rooted characters thanks to the extra layer that the actors add to the already phenomenal scripts.
And furthermore, the locations are of course finger-licking good with the most beautiful New York penthouses, private jets, and just check off the entire bingo card of the nine-zero club.
Is there any less good news? Certainly. HBO has exactly on January 1 thrown seasons 1 and 2 out of their portfolio. And starting with season 3 is just not recommended. Is there a solution? Pull your DVD player out of the dust and order the two seasons on DVD now from Bol.com. Mine is coming tomorrow.
